Yahoo: Verizon Agrees to Acquire Internet Company for $4.83 Billion

A joint statement by the two parties Monday morning confirmed the sale, which is expected to close in 2017. As a new entity, Yahoo will retain Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Yahoo Japan Corp.
